It could simply mean buying some knee pads or a helmet to wrap up with the new motorized Christmas present… It could also mean using correct lifting techniques… and planning your maintenance around the house to ensure you have the right equipment.

If you are traveling, ensure you follow the speed limit and that all items stowed in the back of your vehicle are secure and safe. Check your seat belts for frays and that your vehicle is in service. Ensure you have triangles in your vehicle, should you need to pull off the road. Also make sure your headlights are in good working order and keep them on throughout the day as well as the night.

Keep alert and stop for breaks during your trip. Consider creating a travel and fatigue management plan. It is beneficial to have a co-pilot who can swap the driving every few hours.
